What a busy couple of months it has been for the schools work team! As well as the usual Open the Book Assemblies, Godly Play Sessions, R.E. Lessons and Prayer Spaces the team provide to primary schools across Doncaster, we have also had 7 sessions of Scripture Unions "Easter Cracked" Workshop to children in Years 5 and 6, 3 "Jesus died for me" workshops to children in Key Stage 1 and 3 Whole school assemblies.
The schools we've visited are Toll Bar Primary, Bentley High Street, Bentley new Village, Scawthorpe Sunnyfields, Hatchell Wood- Cantley, Copley Junior- Sprotbrough, Brooke Primary- Thorne and Marshland Primary- Moorends.As you van see that's a lot of Doncaster covered and close to 1000 children aged 5-11 who have heard and interacted with the Easter Story. Each School we have visited have been welcoming and thankful for the workshops and we've received brilliant feedback from staff
Mrs Melling from Toll Bar said "A fantastic session- engaging and informative- the children loved it."
Mr Fearn from Bentley High Street told us "The children had a lovely time."
The children themselves have had wonderful things to say, such as;
"My favourite bit was playing true or false" "my favourite bit was making the cross suncatcher" "I will remember how fun it was to learn about Jesus" "I learned that Jesus died for us so that we could be forgiven" "I learned that Easter is more important than I thought"
I am so thankful for the volunteers who gave up hours of their time to work with me on this Project, it truly would not have been possible without your support.
Looking to the future it would be wonderful to be able to provide a circuit wide project in schools again like this, so if you woulod like to get involved please contact Amy Roddam by emailing email@example.com or have a chat with me at Circuit events.
