Christmas Message from Rev John Henry
For me the wonder of the incarnation is that God walks with each one of us in the person and the presence of Jesus. We know his presence now in our daily lives through the power of the Spirit.
What a wonderful truth; through all the ups and downs of life we can know Jesus walking with us.
As one of your 'pastors' I am all too aware of the things that some of you have faced this year. Some of it bad and yes, of course, some of it good. It has been an immense privilege to walk with you.
Thinking about Jesus being known to each one of us spurs a further thought, how can we make Him known to others.
Part of the wonder of the incarnation is that God, in Jesus went out of the way to, in Eugene Peterson's words, "move into the neighbourhood".
As we think through our mission in the next year, how might we "move into the neighbourhood."
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
With much love
Revd John
